Malachy Walsh and Partners has a vibrant Building Services department. The firm has acted as Mechanical and Electrical Building Services lead designers on numerous varied projects including Commercial, Office, Residential, Hotel & Leisure, Healthcare and Educational. The firm is at the forefront of sustainable green energy design and has been involved in some of the largest District Heating, Geothermal and Biomass projects both in Ireland and the UK, successfully securing substantial funding for clients to offset increased capital costs associated with alternative plant and equipment.

MWP have certified staff capable of providing Building Energy Ratings (BER) for both Dwellings and Non-Domestic buildings, using Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) approved DEAP and NEAP software. In addition, the firms has accredited BREEAM Office assessors.

There is in house Building Simulation capability, using IES software, allowing thermal, solar and daylight modelling, together with CFD analysis.

MWP HVAC proposals incorporate best practice low or zero carbon energy (LZC) technologies, as defined by CIBSE TM38: 2006, rather than conventional building services designs, which rely primarily on fossil fuels and peak electricity.
