The development of major pharmaceutical projects in Cork Harbour have allowed Malachy Walsh and Partners to develop specialist skills in this market. For many years, the Practice has carried out a variety of projects for GlaxoSmithKline. In recent times, Malachy Walsh and Partners have also carried out significant development for Pfizer (Irl) Pharmaceuticals, BMS and more recently Amgen.
On these projects, the firm deals with all civil and structural issues including responsibility for obtaining Planning Permissions and Fire Certificates, Environmental Reviews, Traffic and Transportation Studies and Interpretative Geotechnical Reports.
Malachy Walsh and Partners are familiar with the very high level of specialist detail required by these projects. Specialist expertise include, clean rooms, production/process areas, laboratories, floor finishes, damage limiting construction, modular racks, etc.
The Practice has also developed capabilities in other elements of industrial development. A variety of successful projects have been completed for Heineken Ireland and Beamish and Crawford at their Cork Plants. In addition, Malachy Walsh and Partners have been involved in many of the upgrading and maintenance projects carried out at the ConocoPhillips Whitegate Refinery at Whitegate, Co. Cork.
