Malachy Walsh and Partners act as Specialist Advisor on Conservation Matters to the Office of Public Works for all on-going conservation projects on Skellig Michael. Over the last two years, the work has concentrated on the access roadway from the sea landing to the lighthouse. Malachy Walsh and Partners, in conjunction with the Office of Public Works carried out specialist inspections of this access roadway including the seawall and have developed a repair strategy to preserve this key element of Skellig Michael into the future.

The work by MWP also includes geotechnical assessments of the threat arising from potential rockfalls onto the publicly accessible areas.  MWP are also involved in detailed ongoing ornithological and other environmental studies on the Island.
