PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Malachy Walsh and Partners provides Project Management Services through the presence within its ranks of Senior Engineers and Environmentalists who have a wide range of expertise in the different facets of business within which the Company operates.  This enables the Company to address in-house the varying aspects on Engineering Consultancy and manage the different project criteria arising, from conception to conclusion.

A major element of all projects is the need to ensure that its viability, economic return, durability, sustainability and ease of maintenance can be met within the project life.  In addition, there is the paramount requirement to carry out all work safely.  The Firm addresses these requirements by ensuring that where MWP acts as Project Manager, as occurs for all Civil Engineering Commissions, a design team proficient in the areas of expertise required to meet the project demands, are assembled under the direction and management of the Project Manager, who acts as the single point of contact for the implementation of the project, liaising with all stakeholders in so doing. 

He / she manages the lead project personnel, ensuring that the Programme and milestones developed on realisation of the Project Brief at the outset are met and that mitigative measures are adopted in the event of a delay in any activity.  The larger projects dictate that dedicated Programmes are employed to track all activities. 

The appointment of a Project Supervisor Design Process – P.S.D.P. is a statutory requirement for all projects above the minimum threshold of work activity.  Close liaison is maintained with the Health and Safety lead person, available in-house, to ensure that Risk Assessments, the Preliminary Health and Safety Plan, particular Legislation and liaison with P.S.C.S. are addressed throughout, maintaining compliance with Legislation and achieving the fundamental requirement of managing the project safely. 

The provision of Project Management Services, particularly on Civil Engineering Projects where all MWP key divisions are in-house, means that there is total control on project delivery.
