Client: Duchas/Office of Public Works Cost: €1.9million Completion date: n/a Description: Work carried out on this 11th – 13th Century Structure included grouting and conservation of the Cathedral walls and structural tying of deteriorating South Wall. The materials used for grouting and pointing were all lime based and were all mixed to match the original binding and pointing material in the existing walls. The structural tying was a complex operation involving the insertion and fixing of stainless steel bars up to 20metres long, both horizontally and vertically in the south wall. |
