Malachy Walsh and Partners is an established multi-disciplinary Engineering and Environmental Consulting Practice which has been in business since 1967 and currently employs over 150 persons. The head office is located in Cork City with other offices in Tralee, Co. Kerry, Limerick and London, U.K. The Company is totally owned by its Directors.

Malachy Walsh and Partners has extensive experience in environmental, educational, commercial and industrial developments, civil and structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical, environmental impact assessment, appropriate assessment, planning services, water services, flood risk assessments and flood alleviation works.

The firm is currently expanding its capacity in the energy and infrastructure sectors and is seeking to recruit a number of people to work within our environmental/planning team. Our team is based across our three offices in Tralee, Cork & Limerick. These new posts allow for remote working around the country with a requirement for office attendance as necessary for project meetings. Project Ecologist: 2-5 Years Experience

We are involved in medium to large scale environmental projects and we currently have an immediate need for a full time Project Ecologist to work on renewable energy, infrastructure, coastal and other environmental projects. This is a permanent role and offers the successful candidate opportunities for career development.

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years post qualification experience as an ecologist, ideally in an environmental consultancy and will hold a BSc and MSc in a relevant discipline.

The role will ideally be based in Munster and there is flexibility regarding the office location in which you will be based. Salary is negotiable subject to experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ecological field work
  • Preparation of biodiversity chapters for EIAR
  • Preparation of Natura Impact Assessments
  • Preparing Submission Proposals
  • Consultation with regulators and statutory bodies
  • Stakeholder engagement and management

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Zoology or equivalent. MSc is preferable.
  • 2-5 years experience as an ecologist, ideally within an environmental consultancy
  • Experience undertaking ecological surveys including habitat, mammal and bird surveys
  • Experience in Environmental Impact Assessment, Ecological Impact Assessment and Appropriate Assessment
  • Ability to work well in teams, work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Strong technical report writing skills
  • Full driver’s licence

 

Senior Ecologist: 6-10 Years Experience

Civil 3D Technician

In the role Civil 3D Technician you will support the Engineers in the production of full working models and drawings using Civil 3d Civil software within the Civil Department. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work on one’s own initiative to co-ordinate models with internal and external design team members including Architects and Building services. You will be involved in an interesting mix of projects ranging from energy/wind farm, residential, commercial and pharmaceutical.

Experience, Skills and Attributes Required

  • Minimum 5 years experience
  • Proficient in the use of Civil 3D software and other modelling software to produce 3D designs. The role will also involve using AutoCAD for certain types of drawing
  • Irish/UK experience a distinct advantage
  • Ability to work well in teams, work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Have good understanding of client needs and effective time-management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 

Revit Technician
