Malachy Walsh and Partners is an established multi-disciplinary Engineering and Environmental Consulting Practice which has been in business since 1967 and currently employs over 150 persons. The head office is located in Cork City with other offices in Tralee, Co. Kerry, Limerick and London, U.K. The Company is totally owned by its Directors.

Malachy Walsh and Partners has extensive experience in environmental, educational, commercial and industrial developments, civil and structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical, environmental impact assessment, appropriate assessment, planning services, water services, flood risk assessments and flood alleviation works.

The firm is currently expanding its capacity in the energy and infrastructure sectors and is seeking to recruit a number of people to work within our environmental/planning team. Our team is based across our three offices in Tralee, Cork & Limerick. These new posts allow for remote working around the country with a requirement for office attendance as necessary for project meetings. Civil And Structural Engineers

MWP requires a number of Structural and Civil Engineers to support the delivery of a broad range of projects. A number of positions are available, in an office of the candidate’s choosing (Cork, Tralee or Limerick), that would suit motivated, practical and adaptable individuals who have ambition to work in a progressive and innovative engineering and environmental consultancy. MWP maintains a leading position in the Energy sector, and Civil Engineers will gain invaluable exposure to this growing discipline. Structural Engineers will work on high profile projects, with close interaction with the major Contractors in the country. Working with MWP means working with a close-knit team of talented individuals, accepting high levels of responsibility and responding to the ever-changing, day-to-day requirements of our Clients. Requirements

  • Candidates with experience from 2 years and upwards will be considered. MWP wants to employ the most experienced candidates available, so the more experience the better.
  • A very strong structural or civil (energy focused) design background is a major advantage.
  • Strong technical ability in all aspects of your field of engineering.
  • Good knowledge and experience of current EN Standards.
  • Experience of client and contractor interaction and engagement.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Undertake design elements for projects to current regulations and design standards.
  • Manage the production of drawings and reports.
  • Co-ordinate work with engineers of other disciplines.
  • Attend meetings with clients, other consultants and contractors during the course of projects.
  • Ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines.

Civil 3D Technicians

MWP requires a number of Civil 3D Technicians to support the delivery of a broad range of Energy projects. A number of positions are available, in an office of the candidate’s choosing (Cork, Tralee or Limerick), that would suit motivated, practical and adaptable individuals who have ambition to work in a progressive and innovative engineering and environmental consultancy. MWP maintains a leading position in the Energy sector and have a number of upcoming windfarm projects both here and abroad.  Working with MWP means working with a close-knit team of talented individuals, accepting high levels of responsibility and responding to the ever-changing, day-to-day requirements of our Clients. MWP commits to ensuring excellent development in their chosen field with a view to the candidates managing large elements of these projects in the future.

Requirements

  • A very strong Civil 3D background in windfarm projects is a major advantage.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Undertake Civil 3D and 2D drafting, generally on wind farm projects.
  • Manage the production of drawings and reports.
  • Co-ordinate work with engineers on the same projects.
  • Attend meetings with clients, other consultants and contractors during the course of projects.
  • Ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Drawing Office of the company.
