Project Description

This nineteenth century Victorian mansion is set against the stunning beauty of Killarney National Park. The house stands close to the shores of Muckross Lake. William Burn, the well-known Scottish architect, was responsible for its design. Building commenced in 1839 and was completed in 1843.

MWP have been involved in ongoing works at Muckross House and Estate over the past 15 years including;

Facade refurbishment: Works included stone conservation, historic windows, roofs and chimneys.

Refurbishment of ticket sales area, entrance hall, audio visual room, circulation areas and the installation of 3 No. lifts to comply with disabled access requirements. Due to the historically sensitive nature of the building all services had to be discretely installed and lighting fittings specified accordingly.
