Services – Health and Safety

It is the policy of Malachy Walsh and Partners (MWP), that the operations of the company are executed and managed at all times to ensure full compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005 and to ensure so far as reasonably practicable the safety, health and welfare of all employees at our places of work.

This policy extends to protecting the environment in which MWP carry out their activities and to other persons not employed by MWP who may be affected by our activities so far as reasonably practicable.

The firm is committed to providing such information, training and supervision as may be needed for this purpose. A number of Senior Staff members are qualified Health and Safety professionals and are responsible for the applications of the Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 – 2016 to ensure the safety and wellbeing of MWP Staff in their working activities. A bespoke Project Safety Management System has been developed by MWP which details the Firm’s procedures relating to Project Safety in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013. Significant health and safety related expertise has been developed by the Firm through the application of the Project Safety Management System for many different project and sector types. MWP are occasionally appointed by the Health and Safety Authority of Ireland to assist in accident investigation and other health and safety related tasks. Malachy Walsh and Partners has extensive experience in producing risk assessments, Health & Safety plans and Health & Safety files for a wide variety of engineering projects.

Project Safety Supervision Design (PSDP)

Malachy Walsh and Partners has the knowledge, experience and training to be competent to provide the role of Project Supervisor Design Process in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013. IOSH accredited courses are used to ensure that PSDP approved Staff are kept informed of their legal obligations both as PSDP and Designers. Examples of recently completed PSDP commissions include Star Wars film sets located on five different remote coastal locations around Ireland, numerous wind farm development projects and the development of new berths at Dublin Port.
